Last weekend, my Mom and sister wanted to make a strawberry cake. I hate strawberries, so we opted for two cakes: vanilla and strawberry. I don't think we have baked a cake together in my lifetime, so this was as rare as being hit by lightning. As to not screw this up and leave the kitchen empty for another ten years, we followed Sally's Baking Addiction (https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/strawberry-cake/) aka the first strawberry cake recipe to pop up on Google. Can't you tell we are professionals? :) Now, let me take you into another episode of Hell's Kitchen! Gordan Ramsay don't watch!!

Vanilla Cake:

Here is the basic Vanilla cake recipe! We whipped the butter, added wet ingredients into a bowl, and dry into another bowl! Then we slowly added the dry into the wet ingredients and BAM Vanilla Cake! Honestly way easier than we thought!

Now onto the strawberry cake. Turns out a strawberry cake is just a Vanilla Cake + strawberry puree! Who would've thought?

Strawberry Cake:

We added the strawberry puree and baked it for 25 minutes! I hate strawberries, so I was not as invested in this cake.

Vanilla Frosting:

I don't love frosting, so we didn't add it to the cake! But it all turned out delicious and didn't take too long! I would definitely recommend giving this recipe a try or any recipe that will get you back into the kitchen. It's more fun than you think :)

Xoxo,
